On 15th February, our Year 5/6 athletics team took part in the Doncaster Sports Hall finals at Dearne Valley Leisure Centre. It was the first time we have qualified for the finals since Mr Johnston has been at our school. The children did themselves and the school proud with their effort, dedication and behaviour. The girls finished fourth overall, and the boys seventh. We finished seventh overall with 101.5 points. Well done!
On 1st February, we finished in 2nd place in the North Doncaster School Games Year 5/6 Sportshall Athletics Finals at Dearne Valley leisure centre. There were 8 schools in the event with the top four qualifying for the Doncaster School Games Finals on the 15th of February. We finished a very good second place scoring 121 points. The children were a credit to school with their efforts in every event and with how they conducted themselves.
Congratulations to Year 5/6 athletics team who has won an indoor athletics competition at Dearne Valley Leisure Centre. The children competed against five other teams from our pyramid, accumulating 118 points along the way. They beat Woodlands Primary School in to second place by 7 points. They competed in sprints, relay, long jump, javelin, standing jump, chest throw and a fun obstacle course. Phew! The boys did really well and won 55 points, but the girls won an amazing 63 points. The children have now qualified for the Doncaster school games finals. We are really proud of them, as they had not had chance to practise recently - P.E. lessons had been covering gymnastics and dance. Well done!
