Our topic this term is called 'People Who Help Us'. We will be learning about the wide range of emergency services, who to ask for help at school, at home and in our community.
We will be enjoying lots of fantastic stories such as:
Welcome back and a very warm welcome to our new starters!
Our topic this term is called 'Shiver Me Timbers!' We will be turning into pirates, sailing the seven seas and exploring desert islands for treasure! We will be exploring our forest school for treasures using treasure maps, writing messages to put in bottles and walking the plank in our outdoor area.
We will be enjoying lots of fantastic stories about pirates such as:
Welcome back and welcome to our new starters. We hope you had a great Christmas and Happy New Year 2019!
Our new topic is called 'Down on the Farm'. We will be learning about what it would be like to work on a farm, finding out about animals that live on the farm and food that comes from farms. We will also be reading lots of farm stories, singing songs and rhymes about farm animals and the noises that they make.
We are so excited to soon be having our own eggs from the farm in our Nursery which we will keep in a special incubator and watch carefully everyday until we see our baby chicks hatch out of the eggs!
As part of our topic 'If you go down to the woods today...' we went on a bear hunt in our forest school! It was so much fun wading through the swishy, swashy grass and splasing in the river. We also went through the swirling, whirling snowstorm and squelched through the thick, oozy mud! We eventually found a narrow, gloomy cave and inside it was a bear! He really enjoyed the honey sandwiches that we had made for him!
We are pleased to welcome our new starters into Nursery and welcome back children who are returning to us.
This half term we will be focussing on settling our new children into the Nursery routines and learning about how we look after and share our resources.
Our topic this term is called 'If you go down to the woods today...'
We will be finding out about what we might discover in the woods, reading stories about bears and woodland animals along with visiting and exploring our fantastic forest school area!
We are so excited to be having a Teddy Bears Picnic and making Gruffalo Crumble!
Thank you for your continued support.
We will be inviting all parents to sign up to class dojo next week (WC.17.09.18)
This is a brilliant resource allowing us the opportunity to share your child's amazing achievements with you and give you an insight into what they get up to when they are at Nursery!
We love our new circus themed reading area! We can't wait to get cosy, retelling stories using the puppets and story spoons. We might even have a go at writing our own stories!
How you can help
Our topic this half term is Dinosaurs!
We will be learning the names of the dinosaurs, how long ago they walked our planet and what food they liked to eat. We will be making our own dinosaurs, turning handprints into dinosaurs and finding out about dinosaur fossils!
We will be reading lots of stories about dinosaurs including:
Each week in Nursery we have a class 'Hook Book'. This engages the children with a specific story, we then go on a train ride around our learning environment to find lots of exciting activities linked to the book.
Parents of Nursery children are invited into the Nursery classroom every Friday to share stories whilst having a drink of juice and a bun with your child.
Morning Nursery: 8.15am-9.00am
Afternoon Nursery: 12.15pm-1.00pm
Please come along and join us to share our love of books and spend time with your child in their learning environment. This is a great opportunity to meet other parents and chat with Miss Fletcher and the other members of staff.
