Lyfta

Lyfta is an immersive learning platform that introduces children to real people and communities from around the world through interactive story worlds, combining 360° environments, film, photography and powerful human stories.

At Owston Park, we use Lyfta during our whole-school Lyfta sessions. Each half term, we explore a carefully selected storyworld linked to one of our school values, giving children the opportunity to engage with real-life stories, broaden their perspectives and reflect on what these values mean in the wider world.

By using Lyfta, we help to broaden children's horizons and deepen their understanding of the diverse world around them, enabling them to encounter people whose lives, cultures, experiences and perspectives may be different from their own. These authentic stories foster curiosity, empathy and respect, while encouraging children to reflect on similarities and differences between themselves and others. Lyfta also provides rich opportunities to develop oracy skills, as pupils are encouraged to discuss, debate, question and share their ideas, helping them become confident communicators who can listen thoughtfully and express their views effectively.
