School Visits

School trips and visits from external organisations play a vital role in enhancing teaching and learning by providing children with meaningful, memorable and enriching experiences beyond the classroom. They offer opportunities to bring learning to life, helping children make connections between classroom-based knowledge and the wider world through first-hand experiences, exploration and practical engagement. Visits to places of historical, cultural, scientific and geographical interest, alongside visitors sharing their knowledge, skills and experiences in school, can spark curiosity, inspire new interests and deepen children's understanding across the curriculum. Such experiences also support the development of important life skills, including communication, confidence, independence, social interaction and teamwork. Most importantly, school trips and visits help to broaden children's horizons, raise aspirations and expose them to different cultures, environments, careers and opportunities that they may not otherwise encounter. By providing inclusive and stimulating learning experiences, schools can nurture children's curiosity, develop a love of learning and help them become more confident, knowledgeable and open-minded individuals.
